Dawn Haney (they/she) has been teaching, organizing, coaching, and writing for more than 20 years on feminism, white anti-racism, Buddhism, leadership, and liberation. They braid together wisdom from Buddhism and social justice traditions, understanding identity, power, and change through their own experiences as a white, fat, queer, nonbinary femme. She offers wisdom on embodied liberation as a co-founder of Fat Rose, a Community Teacher at East Bay Meditation Center, and a leader in Buddhist activism, drawing on lessons from her former Co-Director role with the Buddhist Peace Fellowship. A dharma student since 2003, they are a graduate of Spirit Rock’s Community Dharma Leaders program, and currently serves as a mentor and co-leads the diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility efforts of the global 2-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program.
