Welcome Tim Newton to the BCBS Team

Please join us in welcoming Tim Newton to the staff as our new Kitchen Manager! Tim brings decades of experience in culinary operations and food safety.

Tim grew up in Central Massachusetts, not far from Barre, and has been a passionate advocate for environmental justice in Massachusetts. Tim has served many municipalities as an environmental health and safety officer, and continues to enjoy spending time in the field.  When not in the kitchen, Tim enjoys hiking the trails of New England, gardening, and working as an environmental and safety training consultant.

Tim’s passion for food and environmental justice culminates in a deep interest in sustainable agriculture, permaculture gardens, and helping organizations build sustainable systems.  Tim’s interest in Buddhism developed through exploring states of high concentration, which led to discovering Jon Kabat-Zinn, Shinzen Young, and Ajahn Brahm’s many talks.

Tim is glad to join an organization that supports the ideals of environmental responsibility, Buddhist ethical practice, and the practice of metta for all.

And we’re glad to have him with us! He looks forward to serving you wholesome, intentional meals next time you’re with us on campus.
