Mary Aubry
is a meditation teacher and retired lawyer. In 1993, she began meditating in the Vipassana tradition and attending retreats at the Southern Dharma Retreat Center near Asheville, North Carolina. Her teachers have included Joseph Goldstein, Sharon Salzburg, Rodney Smith, Leigh Brasington, and Bhikkhu Analayo.
In the 2000’s, she served on Southern Dharma’s board for seven years. In 2012, she graduated from the Community Dharma Leadership program co-sponsored by the Spirit Rock Meditation Center and the Insight Meditation Society.
Currently, she is one of the facilitating teachers for Venerable Analayo’s online courses offered through BCBS. She also teaches residential retreats nationwide on insight, the jhanas, metta, and emptiness.
Mary lives in Ohio, with her two Maine Coon cats and near her son and his family. In addition to meditating, she enjoys sewing, politics, community organizing, hiking and practicing yoga.
