Nine Bodies: A Yearlong Program Exploring Samadhi and the Natural Capacities of Consciousness

Registration for this program closes at 5:00 PM ET on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Listen to a guided meditation with Tuere Sala

This yearlong program is a meditation practice program utilizing the Satipaṭṭhāna, the Nine Bodies map of consciousness, and Phillip Moffitt’s Naturally Arising Samadhi and Insight. We will deepen our understanding of emptiness and consciousness through the felt sense of experience. The Buddha describes how the elements, consciousness, and awareness support a deepening connection to emptiness and peace. Our aim in this program is to deepen and strengthen our relationships with the elements, both internally and externally. This program will also be an opportunity to deepen our relationship with consciousness as a meditative object. This will support a nuanced understanding of the differences between mindfulness, awareness, and ordinary ego. Finally, this program will support you in cultivating inner stability and agency by strengthening an internal structure that allows you to recognize and rest in the knowing of experience, decreases reactivity, and cultivates confidence in your meditative practice.

Program Format: This is a householder program designed to prioritize practice and integration in daily life through a monthly large group meeting, a practice workbook, pre-recorded videos/meditations, and optional monthly Q&R sessions with the teachers. The monthly large group meeting will include a 30-minute guided meditation, Dharma talk, practice discussion, and Q&R. The monthly Q&R sessions will provide an opportunity for students to ask questions, clarify their understanding, and deepen their practice. Recordings will be available for those who cannot attend live.

Program material will be held in Canvas and will include practice recordings to support practitioners in their regular practice throughout each month.

Guest Teacher: Phillip Moffitt

Please Note: This yearlong program is bookended by hybrid retreats through BCBS in August 2025 and 2026. Participants are welcome to register for any or all of the three components separately. Learn more about the August 2025 Nine Bodies Insight Retreat here.
