Watch invitation from Georgia Kashnig
This is our second program this year on reading stories about women who were part of the Buddha’s life: his birth mother, his adoptive mother, his wife, as well as some of his disciples. It is an extension of the “Women in the Buddha’s Life” project, a new initiative that aims to bring renewed attention to women’s voices within Buddhist heritage and to study their words as resources for discovery, practice, and reflection. The program will draw directly from the “Women in the Buddha’s Life” website (https://www.buddhistinquiry.org/resources/women-in-the-buddhas-life/). It will use a variety of contemplative reading practices designed to foster connection between reader and text, as well as among readers themselves. Participation in the first program is not a prerequisite. All are welcome!
