Our incoming Executive Director, Richard Henning, shares a few words with our community.
Hello to You All,
I am deeply grateful and excited to be a part of this wonderful BCBS sangha. I have been involved in meditation, Buddhism, and self-exploration since my days as an English and Philosophy major at Boston College. It wasn’t until a transformative weeklong retreat at BCBS in 2007, however, that I really discovered the power within the simplicity of meditation practice. It was also during that week that I discovered the support that comes from engaging in this practice and exploration within community.
Since then, sitting has been an essential start to my day, and Dharma study an integral part of my life. After more than three decades in various leadership positions within for-profit and not-for-profit publishing and education organizations, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help steward BCBS through its next chapter—and to deepen my own practice in the process.
I look forward to working with the center’s amazingly talented staff, deeply committed board and faculty, and many generous and devoted friends in furthering the important work of helping to support one another on this path of awakening. Please stop by and introduce yourself next time you visit BCBS. I look forward to meeting all of you and hearing your stories.
With best wishes,
