After much reflection, I have decided that it is time for me to leave BCBS. This past four years, BCBS has been my home and family—all of which has made this such a difficult decision.
I am deeply grateful to the entire BCBS community for making these past years so special. Especially since having made this decision, I have felt a great deal of warmth and gratitude toward everyone who comes here to study and practice, to teach, to work, and to be a part of making BCBS everything it is.
As of now, I have no specific plans other than to give myself lots and lots of space to explore new things and see what unfolds. I’ve offered to stay on until as late as December to make sure there is plenty of time to find the right person to fill the position.
I’m sure I’ll see many of you over the coming days, weeks, and months as the board searches for a new Executive Director. Please feel free to get in touch with me at email@example.com if there are any questions or concerns.
With gratitude and deep appreciation,
Statement from the BCBS Board Chair
I know that you all join me in expressing our great gratitude to Laurie for the wonderful role that she has played as our Executive Director at BCBS over the past four years. We will all miss her skilled and supportive presence and offer her every good wish as she moves into her next chapter.
The Board has formed a Search Committee consisting of five board members and Laurie and headed by Winnie Nazarko and myself. We will be distributing the Executive Director job description to a number of sources. You will also see that it is on our website. Since Laurie has played such a key role in bringing strength and vitality to BCBS, we anticipate that this position will receive a good deal of interest. If you would like to suggest someone who you feel is exceptionally well qualified for this position, please refer them to the job posting on our website.
Everyone at BCBS is grateful for your continued engagement and support during this time of transition.
